Our Founders

Troy and Nanette Lovins

Troy began his career in the industrial laundry industry in 1987 and has worked for both family-owned/independent operators as well as national organizations since that time. In 2006, he and his wife, Nanette, established Performance Matters, Inc., a strategic consulting company in the same industry. Troy is originally from Indiana and attended Ball State University. He has served on the board for a local faith-based camp and loves spending time with all kids! He is excited to dedicate the next season of his life to the development of Hope for His Children, Inc.

Nanette worked for 22 years in healthcare administration before transitioning to establish and support Performance Matters, Inc. Originally from Atlanta, GA, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Mercer University. Nanette has always enjoyed serving others through hands-on volunteer efforts and leadership positions in organizations such as the American Heart Association, United Way, YMCA and local camps. Nanette loves kids and has worked as a private nanny and has served in children’s ministry programs as well.

Troy and Nanette reside in Fort Mill, SC and are proud parents of three adult children – Jessica, Chase (daughter in love Kendra) and McKinley, and two granddaughters, Charlie Rain and Adelade Louise.

Troy and Nanette Lovins

Nevin McCoy, Camp Director

Nevin has extensive experience working in a camp environment in roles such as outdoor educator, camp counselor, camping director, and director of operations. He holds an associates degree in EcoTourism and Adventure Travel from Hocking College..  He enjoys everything outdoors, including homesteading and gardening.  Most of all, he is driven to use outdoor camp programs to bring youth and families closer to God with a goal of creating dependence on God, family and self.   Nevin his wife, Lyndsay, reside in Ferguson, NC at Blue Ridge Ranch.

Steve MacPherson

Steve is originally from Ohio and graduated in 1997 from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA in Accounting.  He worked for Deloitte & Touche as Senior Accountant for three years and Mirus Solutions as Operations Manager for six years prior to establishing his own accounting firm in 2006.  Steve and his wife, Teresa, have three beautiful daughters.  He has served as booster club treasurer at two local schools and currently serves as Baxter Trail Club Treasurer in addition to serving on the board for Hope for His Children, Inc.  Steve and his wife, Teresa, reside in Fort Mill, SC.

Tom Bartlett

For more than 30 years Tom has served as a pastor, church planter, teacher, numerous church starts and overseas work in places such as Africa and China featuring leadership training and specialized camps for children.  Tom and his wife, Carla, have six children.  They reside in North Wilkesboro, NC where Tom serves as a pastor.

Darryn Belieu

Darryn traveled the world as a Christian worship musician for nearly 35 years before retiring from the road.n  Since that time, he has started a very successful Christmas lighting business that services Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Charlotte, Lake Wylie and Waxhaw.

Rob Payne

Rob and his wife, Leslie, reside in Boone, NC with their precious daughters, Blakely and Kinsely.  Rob is a respected business owner in the community; he owns and operates Elite Automotive in Wilkesboro, NC. 

Allison Moyes

Allison taught at the elementary school level for 28 years.  Three of those years were spent as a school administrator.  She retired last year to spend more time with family.  Allison and Kirk have two children and four grandchildren.  They reside in Pittsboro, IN. 

Kirk Moyes

Kirk has worked in the healthcare insurance field for sixteen years.  He owns Moyes & Associates Insurance Agency.  Kirk leads a team of more than forty insurance agents to help people make the best choices when it comes to health insurance and other healthcare needs.  He has also been involved in financial planning for more than 20 years.  Kirk and Allison have two children and four grandchildren and reside in Pittsboro, IN.

Rob Suter

Rob grew up in Southern Ohio, involved in Young Life camps and gave his life at a mountain camp in Colorado.  He graduated from Ohio University and has been involved in healthcare and medical device technology in the sleep medicine field for the past 20 years.  He and his lovely South African wife, Zhantell, have three kids and live in Fort Mill, SC.  They are very active in their home church and are honored to serve with Hope for His Children.

Steve earned a BSBA degree with undergraduate work at both Wake Forest University and University of North Carolina – Charlotte, as well as an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Steve enjoys time with his wife, Ainsley and his two children, Savannah and Carter. He enjoys involvement in non-profit organizations , especially those who serve children and the elderly. Steve, Ainsley, Savannah and Carter reside in High Point, NC.
