The Blue Ridge Knights camp program for boys has evolved from thirteen years of experience with conducting similar camps during the summer. As we saw lives changed and leaders evolve, we were inspired to develop a curriculum and year-long camp experience. We have tremendous confidence in the value that our program will bring to families, churches, our community, and most importantly, the Kingdom of God.
The weekly lessons and camp experiences focus on developing a deeper relationship with God and building self-confidence and good judgment. Through lessons and camp experiences, boys acquire skills that will bring value to their homes and community – all while having fun!

How does one participate in the Blue Ridge Knights?
Participants are nominated for limited spots in the program. Future participants may be nominated by a pastor, member of the community, or friend or family member. Our class sizes are intentionally small so that strong relationships grow among the participants and so that we can provide the most meaningful experience possible.
We are currently accepting nominations for our first class that begins early in 2022; however, we accept nominations throughout the year for future Blue Ridge Knights groups. Should you have questions, or wish to nominate a boy for the first Blue Ridge Knights class, please go to www.hope4hischildren.org or contact Nevin McCoy at (336) 973-1166 or nmccoy@hope4hischildren.org. The nomination is confidential and Nevin McCoy will follow-up personally to discuss each nomination and next steps.

What is expected of the individual
making a nomination?
After a nominee is accepted to the program, we ask that the nominating individual reach out to the participant periodically to encourage him and to help with assignments as needed.
As you might imagine, there is a cost associated with offering a twelve-month program with a weekly lesson component, regular coaching and five camp experiences per year. As a result, we ask that the individual that nominates a participant assists the participant with raising a portion of their tuition for the program. By doing so, the participant naturally has another mentor to support and encourage him throughout the year-long program.

Is there a cost for the Blue Ridge Knights?
Because there are costs associated with offering a customized on-line curriculum, staff to oversee and facilitate the program and expenses for housing, meals and supplies, yes there is tuition associated with participating in this program.
If the applicant is unable to pay the cost to participate in the program, there are scholarships available that they may be considered for and other forms of compensation may be considered including community service, workdays at the ranch and individual fundraising. We believe that participants that have some “skin in the game” are more likely to be committed to the program.
